(AUDIO) West Point-Beemer’s Anderson and VanderGriend sign with Northwestern College

West Point-Beemer Football Standouts Blake Anderson and Ben VanderGriend are headed to Northwestern College in Orange City, IA next year. Anderson says his love for the game of football really grew towards the end of high school.

VanderGriend says they learned a lot about the game of Football from the coaches at West Point-Beemer, and he looks forward to having more great coaches at Northwestern.

Anderson says high school football was quite the ride.

VanderGriend says his favorite high school football memory doesn’t have to do with a game itself.

Anderson and VanderGriend both helped lead the Cadets to back-to-back playoff appearances.

VanderGriend says he chose Northwestern for a couple of reasons.

Anderson says he expects to play tight end for the Red Raiders while VanderGriend will play wide receiver.

Anderson plans to study Biology Health Professions Pre-Dental with the goal of getting a Biology Degree then going on to Dental School to become a Dentist.

VanderGriend plans to major in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance as he hopes to become a Financial Advisor.

Anderson is the son of Keith and Brenda Anderson while VanderGriend is the son of Harlyn and Terri VanderGriend.
