UNK’s Michaela Barry has been named the MIAA Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week. Barry, a 5’7” senior from Battle Creek, Neb., averaged 30.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 1.5 assists per game to help UNK rally past NW Missouri and Missouri Western at home last weekend. In both games, the Lopers trailed by double digits in the second half. Against Northwest Missouri, Barry recorded her first career double-double (43 points & 10 rebounds). The point total tied a school record and she also had five steals and just one turnover over 47 minutes. On Saturday against Missouri Western, she had a team-high 18 points and her steal with a minute left led to the go-ahead bucket. UNK Travels to Lindenwood and Lincoln this week.
