The Briar Cliff women’s volleyball team defeated Mount Mary in straight sets Thursday night to move to 8-6 overall and 2-3 in conference play.
BC recorded a .236 hitting percentage with 36 kills and 15 errors on 89 attacks, compared to .128 for Mount Marty. Lexus Mosbrucker led all players with 13 kills for the Chargers, followed by Grace Hanno with nine. Caitlin Dirks’ 13 kills was a team-high for the Lancers.
Danielle Coronado tallied seven digs and two service aces for the blue and gold. Mosbrucker and Harlee Wagoner were right behind her with six digs each. Grace Whitlaw rejected two attacks, with help from teammates Mosbrucker and Courtney Schafer.
Elizabeth Watchorn and Alex Bargstadt each had nine digs in the contest and Mikaela Ahrendt had one solo block for the Lancers.
Mount Marty drops to 3-11 overall and 0-7 in the GPAC.
The Chargers witll be back in action Saturday when they travel to Crete, Nebraska to take on the Tigers of Doane. Opening serve is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
