Omaha, Neb. — Head coach Ed Servais announced the 2019 Creighton baseball schedule on Wednesday, Oct. 31, featuring 28 home games in the confines of TD Ameritrade Park Omaha (TDAPO) including home series against Purdue and Maryland.
The Bluejays play their first 10 games on the road beginning with a series at Arkansas-Little Rock in Little Rock, Arkansas from Feb. 15-17. Creighton continues by with a trip across the country to Louisiana for the Lake Area Classic at McNeese State (Feb. 22-24), facing Texas State twice as well as two games with McNeese State. The road trip ends during the first weekend of March as the Bluejays face former MVC rival Wichita State in Kansas (March 1-3).
The home schedule begins early this season for the Bluejays as Creighton faces off with Northern Colorado on March 5-6, then welcomes in Purdue for the weekend of March 8-10. Back on the road, the Bluejays face off against St. Louis in a two-game outing in Missouri (March 12-13). Following one day of rest, Creighton is back on the diamond for three against Evansville from March 15-17 in Indiana.
The longest home stretch of the season follows as Creighton hosts South Dakota State on Wednesday, March 20, then a three-game series with Maryland (March 22-24). The annual three-game midweek series with Nebraska begins at home on March 26, with the final two contests coming at Lincoln on April 9 and back at TDAPO on April 23. The eight-game home stand wraps up against Illinois State from March 29-31.
Like the three-game midweek battles with the Huskers, Creighton faces Nebraska-Omaha three times as well. The two squads battle at Werner Park on April 3, while the Bluejays host the Mavericks on April 30 and May 14. The non-conference season continues as the Bluejays host Kansas State on April 5-7 and go to Lawrence, Kansas on April 24 to face the Jayhawks.
Creighton’s BIG EAST season begins with consecutive road series at Butler (April 12-14) and at Seton Hall (April 18-20). The Bluejays first BIG EAST home series pits Creighton against Xavier from April 26-28. The Bluejays hit the road one last time in conference as they face Georgetown in Washington, D.C. on May 3-5. The home BIG EAST season closes against St. John’s (May 10-12) and Villanova on May 16-18.
Following the regular season, the top four teams in the BIG EAST return to Mason, Ohio for the second consecutive season to decide which squad will earn the conference’s automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
