Cyclones Fall to Drake in OT

Ames, Iowa- The Iowa State soccer team (8-6-1, 2-3-1 Big 12) fell to the Drake Bulldogs (10-4-2, 0-3-1 Missouri Valley) 1-0, in the second overtime on Tuesday night at the Cyclone Sports Complex.

Turning Point of the Game
After 102 minutes of scoreless action, Drake pushed the ball into their offensive third. The Cyclone defense was able to shut it down, but senior defender Madi Ott wasn’t able to get a clean pass back to goalkeeper Lindsey Hendon. Drake forward Kayla Armstrong was there to intercept the pass and buried the golden goal.

Cyclone Game Ball Goes to…
Redshirt sophomore Brooke Tasker. Tasker led the Cyclones with four shots and two on goal from the midfield position. She also put two corner kicks nicely into the box for good scoring opportunities, but no one was able to score it.

Game Notes
* Iowa State recorded 23 shots, just one shy of their season high.
* Twelve different Cyclones fired a shot.

On Deck
Iowa State is returns to Big 12 play Friday when it travels to Waco, Texas, to take on No. 24 Baylor.
