(AUDIO) District golf results from Monday; Scottsbluff, Gering head to state

The Scottsbluff and Gering boys golf teams are headed to  state after solid showings on Monday afternoon at the B-4 District meet in Ogallala.

Sidney is the district champ after a combined round of 316. The Red Raiders were led by meet medalist Connor Dormann, who shot a round of 75 to earn the top spot.

Scottsbluff finished second on the day, ten shots off the pace, with a team score of 326.  Scottsbluff Head Coach Nick Goranson talked about his kids effort.

The Bearcats had two top ten finishers including Gabe Patton, who finished second with a round of 76.

Vince Quijas posted a 79 to finish in seventh place for Scottsbluff.

Gering’s 337 on the team scoreboard was good for third place. Head Coach Keaton Green thrilled his team was able to advance.

As has been the case all season long for Gering it was Grant Maser leading the way. The senior paced Gering with a 77, good for a fourth place finish.

The Class B State Tournament will be held next Tuesday and Wednesday in Lincoln.

The D-5 District meet was in Crawford. The top three teams that are moving on to state are Mullen (361), Garden County (368), and Paxton (384).

Morrill has one state qualifier in Braeden Struempler who finished in fifth place with a round of 84.

Mullen’s Koby Walker was the D-5 meet medalist with a score of 78.

The Class D State Tournament will be in North Platte next Tuesday and Wednesday.
