Eustis/Medicine Valley Cross Country Preview
Local runners compete at Panhandle Classic.

The Eustis-Farnam/Medicine Valley Renegade Cross Country teams will be hitting the course for the first time Friday, Sept. 2 as they host Cambridge. Second year head coach Caleb Wall’s girls team will be a small, but the boys have some numbers and a state qualifier returning. Nathan Nicklaus finished fourth in districts and ran in Kearney last year. He will be leading a group of seven boys this year. Team members are: Nicklaus, Gage Seiler, Delane Hugunin, Curty Barthel, Riley Eisenhauer, Joe Chancellor, Bryan Herrick and Asher Kahler.

The girls team qualified for state last year, Wall expects them to be a bit thinner. Runners include Rae Ann Heapy, LeighAnne Lehmann, Payton Kahler, and Eden Jackson “We will be a little short-handed,” Wall said. “Payton and Eden have both worked hard in the early practices and we look forward to seeing what they prove themselves capable.” Kahler and Jackson are returners and ran at state last year.
