Former Huskers football head coach James William “Bill” Glassford, died Monday morning in Phoenix, Arizona, at the age of 102 years old.
Glassford coached the Huskers from 1949-1955 and led Nebraska to their first Orange Bowl. He was inducted into the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame in 2002. In his time coaching at Nebraska, Glassford’s overall record was 31–35–3.
Before he passed, he was the oldest, living former NFL player, and one of only 7 total to have lived a century.
