The Guardian Angels Central Catholic Volleyball team is 5-2 on the season after picking up wins over Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family and Boone Central/Newman Grove last week. Head Coach Kate Hagemann says her team has learned a lot in a short amount of time.
“We lost a few games early. And with kind of a young team coming back, I think they learned a lot in the first couple of matches. Playing in that tournament and getting a lot of games under their belt quickly. So I think that was good for us.”
The Bluejays travel to Wayne on Tuesday in a match that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.
Hagemann expects the Blue Devils to be tough.
“Yep, they’ll be probably the best team we’ve played so far this year. So we’re expecting a very good challenge. They made it into the Gold Division at the opening tournament and played some really good competition on Saturday. And all their losses are to really good teams.”
Wayne’s losses have come to Wisner-Pilger, North Bend Central, Lutheran High Northeast, Columbus Lakeview, and Ord.
Tuesday’s match is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
