Hawkeyes Fall to Purdue in Series Finale

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa softball fell 6-0 to Purdue in its final regular season game Sunday afternoon at Pearl Field.

Kenzie hle (2-5) suffered the loss. The senior gave up six runs on seven hits before being replaced by senior Ashley Yoways. Freshman Lauren Shaw finished the game for the Hawkeyes. She collected two strikeouts in two innings of work.

QUOTING HEAD COACH MARLA LOOPER
“We have continued to battle and fight; our practices and batting practices have continued to go well, we have made adjustments throughout, we have to stay the course.

In the tournament, you face one opponent at a time, it’s not a three-game series. You have to be at your best at the moment. It’s one game at a time, which every day is, but it is a little different with a new opponent each day, much like the preconference season, when we were able to strive on that. I’m anxious to see us get into tournament play using that mentality.”
