SEWARD – The Northeast Community College women’s volleyball team downed Concordia JV in three sets here tonight, 25-17, 25-21 and 25-22.
Hawks Coach Amanda Schultze said her team played well but encountered some challenges. “We struggled with serve receive and getting our middle to connect with the setter. We were able to fight through that and feed the ball to other hitters who did a nice job putting the ball way.”
Tabitha Kander led Northeast in kills with 12, while Macy Stewart and Courtni Kunz finished with 11 and ten, respectively. Courtney Labenz finished with two ace serves and ten digs, and also led the Hawks in assists with 32.
Peyton Roach had three ace serves. Mackenzie Wecker led digs with 18 and also had three assists.
Northeast (17-4) travels to Fort Dodge, Iowa, on Wednesday to face Iowa Central Community College in a 7 p.m. game.
