Haymakers Throttled On Road

BROKEN BOW- Cozad hit the road on Friday night looking to improve their 2-5 record, but instead they fell to Broken Bow 41-7.

From the get-go it was all Indians, as on their first possession they drove 64 yards and scored on a one-yard touchdown run from quarterback Grayson Garey.

In the second quarter, it was all Broken Bow as they scored 21 points on a 42-yard touchdown run from Garey, a nine-yard touchdown run from Andrew Miller, and a 10-yard touchdown pass from Garey to Kevin Linn. The halftime score was 28-0.

In the second half it was much of the same, but Broken Bow was attacking through the air, as Dylan Reynolds had two touchdown catches one from 45 yards out, and the other 25 yards.

Cozad was able to get on the board with a one-yard touchdown run from Adam Cole, but that was the only points that were scored for the Haymakers.

For Cozad, Klint Kill had 46 yards passing and 54 yards rushing. And for Broken Bow Garey had  100 yards passing, 67 yards rushing, and four total touchdowns.

Broken Bow (2-6) will finish the season next week against Kearney Catholic, and Cozad (2-6) will face Gordan-Rushville.
