Nebraska has seven wrestlers ranked in the preseason InterMat poll, released on Tuesday. Seniors Eric Montoya, TJ Dudley and Aaron Studebaker all earned top-five rankings heading into the 2016-17 season. Montoya, an All-American last season, is ranked fourth at 133 pounds. Dudley, who finished runner-up at the last year’s NCAA Championships, is ranked fourth at 184 pounds. Studebaker, who went 23-11 last season, is fifth at 197 pounds. Senior Tim Lambert and sophomore Tyler Berger also garnered top-10 spots by InterMat. Lambert is seventh at 125 pounds, while Berger is No. 9 at 157 pounds. Senior Collin Jensen is ranked 13th at heavyweight and senior Micah Barnes is in the No. 14 spot at 174 pounds. As a team, the Huskers are ranked eighth in the tournament rankings, and sixth in the dual meet rankings.

Nebraska opens its 2016-17 campaign on Friday, Nov. 4 with the Coaches Clinic/Intrasquad at the Devaney Center, starting at 4 p.m. (CT). The following day, Montoya (133) will battle No. 2 Zane Richards (Illinois) in the NWCA All-Star Classic in Cleveland, Ohio. On Sunday, Nov. 6, the Huskers will compete at the Warren Williamson/Daktronics Open in Brookings, S.D.
