Cyclone Game Ball Goes to…
Anna Frerichs. The Cyclones were unable to get much going in the first half which led to a scoreless match at the break. Frerichs was able to ignite the Cyclones with her first career goal which is always something to celebrate, especially when it proves to be the game-winner.
Coach Said It
“I told them [at half time] that we just need to get the ball at our feet and work it around,” head coachTony Minatta said. “You got to take what the opponent is giving you. If they’re backing off, you can’t try to go over the top and everything we were doing was playing in front of them. We weren’t finding feet, we weren’t getting around them, we weren’t finding those seams, and so when we settled down we started getting much better looks on goal… You can’t look past anything. You can take stock of where you’re at, but you just want to make sure you’re focusing on the next opponent.”
