LEXINGTON – Both Lexington and Gering came into the game Friday night 0-5, something had to give. In the end, it was the Minutemen getting a dominate 44-20 win over the Bulldogs.
Sophomore Jake Leger made his first start at quarterback for Lexington and had a very good game accounting for 201 total yards and scoring three touchdowns. Clay Hernandez, the converted quarterback, ran for 172 yards on 31 carries and two touchdowns of his own.
Lexington built a 44-6 lead before Gering scored late.
Lexington, now 1-5 travels to Holdrege next week to take on the Duster.
