Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney volleyball team, after another 4-0 weekend, moved up to fifth in the latest AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) Division II Top 25 poll. The Lopers tallied 979 points to be one of 11 Central Region teams in the Top 22. Not surprisingly, seven of the top nine teams hail from the Central Region, led by top-ranked Concordia-St. Paul. The CU Golden Bears tallied 1,200 points and all 48 first place votes this week. They swept defending national champ Wheeling Jesuit (W.V.) over the weekend in Colorado to improve to 8-0. Others in the top nine include Wayne State (2nd), Minnesota-Duluth (3rd), Southwest Minnesota State (5th), Central Oklahoma (7th) and Winona State (9th). UNK is at Southern New Hampshire (1-8) on Thursday night and then has five matches Friday and Saturday at the Merrimack College Invite in Boston.
