St. Paul, Minn. – It took five sets but third seeded Nebraska-Kearney fell 20-25, 25-21, 23-25, 25-17 and 12-15 to sixth seeded Augustana in the opening round of the NCAA Division II Volleyball National Championship. For the Lopers Kendall Schroer led the way with 21 kills while Tara Ziegelbein hit .355 with 17 kills on the afternoon. Kaitlynn Thomas was also in double figure kills with 13 while Annie Wolfe added nine kills to the effort. Lindsey Smith finished with a double-double adding 56 assists and pulling up 16 digs. On the return it was Ellie McDonnell leading the way with 21 digs, Wolfe added 17 digs, Ali Rowse finished with 15 digs and Morgan Stute had 10 digs. The Lopers finish the season with a 35-2 record and were the MIAA regular season and post-season tournament champions.
