NORFOLK – The Northeast Community College volleyball has improved to 19-8 after defeating North Platte Community College in straight sets here Tuesday, 25-15, 26-24 and 25-19.
“Tonight we started off a little shaky and played timid most of the game,” said Northeast Coach Amanda Schultze. “Once we got some momentum, it was easier for us to keep the ball in play on our side. Our passers did a nice job for us tonight out of serve receive.”
Macy Stewart and Tabitha Kander led the Hawks in kills with eight each. Kelsey Shoemaker put up two solo blocks and one assist block, and Taylor Lammers recorded one solo and two assist blocks.
Mackenzie Wecker, Courtney Labenz and Kelsey Shoemaker each had two ace serves. Wecker and Monique Schafer recorded 17 digs each, and assists were led by Jordan Vogt’s 18 and Labenz’s 11.
The #20 Hawks will host North Iowa Area Community College Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Cox Activities Center on the Northeast campus in Norfolk
