NORFOLK – The #20 Northeast Community College women’s volleyball team needed four sets to defeat North Iowa Area Community College here Wednesday, 25-15, 25-14, 21-25, 25-22.

Hawks Coach Amanda Schultze said her team played well until the last two sets.

“Our attackers made many unforced errors and it definitely hurt us in the third and fourth sets. We had some good rallies that we were able to close towards the end of the game which gave us some momentum to finish strong.”

Northeast was led by Courtni Kunz’s 12 kills. Taylor Lammers has two solo and three assists blocks; Tabitha Kander recorded two ace serves; Mackenzie Wecker had 27 digs on the night while Jordan Vogt and Peyton Roach had 19 each. Vogt also registered 35 assists.

Northeast (20-8) will host #9 Kirkwood Community College (24-7) on Wednesday, October 19th, in the Cox Activities Center on the Northeast campus in Norfolk at 7 p.m.
