SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports have announced the first weekly awards for the 2016 volleyball season. Midland University’s Priscilla O’Dowd has been named the GPAC Volleyball Attacker of the Week.

This is the fourth time in her career she has earned the weekly conference honor.

O’Dowd, a sophomore from Omaha, Nebraska, led Midland’s offensive attack as the Lady Warriors went 4-0 against ranked opponents last week. O’Dowd floored 58 kills, recorded two solo blocks and 11 block assists. She owed a .490 attacking percentage over the four matches.

Behind O’Dowd’s efforts the Warriors remained undefeated at a perfect 11-0 on the year. O’Dowd, last year’s NAIA Freshman of the Year, currently ranks second in the country hitting percentage (.477) and is sixth in total kills (156). She leads the GPAC in attacking percentage and ranks second in kills this season.

The Lady Warriors return to GPAC action on Wednesday in a Top 25 showdown. No. 6 Midland travels to No. 5 Hastings College for a 7:30 p.m. match in Hastings, Nebraska.
