Omaha women fall at South Dakota State

Omaha women fall at South Dakota State

BROOKINGS, S.D. – The Omaha women’s basketball team dropped an 89-64 decision to South Dakota State on Wednesday evening at Frost Arena.

The Mavericks fell to 8-6 overall and 0-2 in Summit League play with the loss, while the Jackrabbits improved to 11-4 on the season and 1-0 in league action.

Leaders for Omaha
Junior Amber Vidal led three scorers in double figures with 22 points on 9-of-19 shooting with three assists and two rebounds.

Junior Courtney Vaccher followed with 13 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots, while sophomore Jay Bridgeman had 10 points.

Leaders for South Dakota State
SDSU’s Madison Guebert led all scorers with 25 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the floor and a 7-of-7 effort at the free throw line.  Guebert also added five assists and four rebounds.

Myah Selland added 13 points and five rebounds, while Ellie Thompson chipped in 11 points and four rebounds.
