Panthers picked 2nd in KCAC Men’s Basketball

Panthers picked 2nd in KCAC Men’s Basketball

WICHITA, Kan. – The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference men’s basketball coaches gathered in downtown Wichita to take part in the annual media day. During the course of the conference York College was chosen to finish second in both the coaches’ and media poll.

York returns four starters from last season’s record setting season in which the Panthers finished with a 25-10 record and a run into the round of eight of the NAIA National Championships. NAIA All-American Cameron Colemanhighlights the returners, followed by Trevor LenearChris Smith, and Johnny CookseyMichael Johnson is another returner that had a significant role in the team’s late year run.

Head Coach Delton Deal said “we have a good solid core coming back from last year. The returners are excited for the start of the season and to continue the success from last year. It has bled into our new guys and they’ve bought in to what we are trying to do.”

The Panthers open up their season on October 22 against Barclay College at 4pm in front of a Homecoming crowd.
