Panthers take two from Bellevue in exciting fashion

YORK – York College rebounded back on day two to split the season series with Bellevue picking up two wins Sunday afternoon. Jake Sola (SO/Lincoln, Calif) helped Corey Mixon (SR/Lake Isabella, Calif) secure the win with a two-run homer in the first game, while Connor Towle(JR/Keller, Texas) finished the Panthers three-run rally in the bottom of the seventh for the walk-off hit.

Game 1 Turning Point
After allowing a run in the first inning Mixon went seven and a third on the mound, striking out five and allowed only two hits. Sola started off the scoring for the Panthers in the fifth with his second home run of the season.

In game two the Bruins led after a three-run home run in the third inning. Jake Sola hit another home run, a solo shot, to get the Panthers within two runs. The Bruins tacked on two unearned runs in the sixth, before the Panthers scored five runs over the last two innings.

Game 2 Turning Point
Connor Towle hit a bases loaded double to score Kevin Olmstead and Casey Wagnon for the 6-5 comeback victory.
