Scottsbluff girls win home golf invite

The Scottsbluff girls earned the team title at their home invite Monday afternoon at the Scotts Bluff Country Club.

Scottsbluff shot a combined 359 and beat runner-up Casper Kelly Walsh by 25 shots. Following Kelly Walsh’s 384 was third place Sidney at 416. Casper Natrona and Chadron tied for fourth with matching 420’s while Gering was fifth posting a 429.

The individual meet medalist was Scottsbluff’s Shelby Poynter, who fired a round of 75 to win by five shots over Chadron’s Alpine Hickstein (80).

Josie Olsen 85 and Anna Johnson 87, both of Kelly Walsh were third and fourth followed by Nic Garbutt of Natrona in fifth place.

Scottsbluff got top ten finishes from both Rachel Hancock and D.J. Bokelman. Hancock shot 89 while Bokelman posted a round of 92.  Also for Scottsbluff Ashlynn Haun was at 103 while Jordyn Hoxworth shot 110.

Gering’s top scorer was Jalen Beam, who finished inside the top ten with a 98. Bailey Kreider shot 105 for the Lady Bulldogs followed by Megan Maser’s 111, Afton Mitchell’s 115 and Avery Mitchell’s 122.

Ashley Maschmeier of Gering was the individual winner in the Division Two standings with a round of 91, followed closely by Mitchell’s Kenzey Kanno, who had a round of 92.
