The Scottsbluff girls golf team picked up another team title on Tuesday afternoon, besting the field at the Chadron Invitational.
Scottsbluff took home the top spot and it wasn’t close as they shot a combined round of 358. Gering finished in second place 31 shots off the pace at 389. Rounding out the team standings were Sidney, Chadron, Bayard, Mitchell, and Bridgeport.
Meet medalist honors went to Shelby Poynter of Scottsbluff. She carded a round of 73, good enough for a two shot victory over Alpine Hickstein of Chadron.
Rachel Hancock gave Scottsbluff two of the top three finishers as she came in third place with a round of 87. Mitchell’s Kenzie Kanno placed fourth (90).
Gering got a nice effort from freshman Ali Boswell, who finished in fifth place after posting a round of 91.
Emma Alexander and Jordan Cook, both of Sidney, went sixth and seventh in the individual standings.
D.J. Bokelman of Scottsbluff and Jaylen Beam of Gering were next up with rounds of 97 and 98, respectively.
