Tuesday was a banner day for the Scottsbluff girls and boys cross country teams as they swept the individual titles at the Panhandle Classic at the Scotts Bluff Country Club.
On the boys side Josh Hergenrader won with a winning time of 16:48. For the girls it was Whitney Riesen capturing first place in 19:36.20. Scottsbluff Head Coach Jim Barker was pleased with how the whole day turned out.
Also for Scottsbluff, Kaylee Bentley finished third on the girls side while Noah Hergenrader, Josh’s brother, came in second for the boys. Barker said overall team depth really showed up yesterday.
Gering got a second place finish from Rebekah Rawlings yesterday while teammate Tukker Romey finished in fourth place.
Some other top finishers on the boys side included Brandon Barker of Kimball in third place followed by Xavier Arellano of Gering and Declan Jeffries of Bridgeport.
