SEWARD-It was a beautiful night for baseball on Wednesday evening as the Seward Jays ended up falling to Nebraska City after leading for five innings, 3-2. The Seward Jays jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning by forcing two walks and then a pair of batters were plunked by pitches leading to a couple of easy runs. The Jays held onto the lead until the 5th inning when Tyler Levy of Nebraska City scored on a passed ball. In the top of the 7th inning, Garrett Bassinger drove in the go-ahead run for Nebraska City. Tayte Rolenc had a great game on the mound for the Jays recording 6.1 innings and allowed just one run for Seward. Nebraska City is now 8-2 and will face EMN today and Seward falls to 1-6 and will take on Scottsbluff and Beatrice this week.
