Briar Cliff women’s basketball has signed Sioux City West High School athlete Bricelyn Comstock to its 2019-20 recruiting class. The senior is currently competing in her final season with the Wolverines.
Comstock has earned six varsity letters in her time as a high school athlete with three each in basketball and soccer. The South Sioux City, Nebraska native played her freshman and sophomore seasons at South Sioux City High School, where she was a member of two state tournament teams and won the Class A State Championship her sophomore year.
In her junior season at West High School, she helped her team to the third-best season record in program history. Through 13 games of her senior season, Comstock has scored 147 points, averaging 12.3 per game. She has also dished out 45 assists and forced 35 steals.
“Bricelyn is a competitor and such a hard worker,” said assistant coach Bay’lee Purdy. “She will fit in perfect with our style of defense and she can shoot the ball! She will be a great addition to our team.”
Comstock has been named to the Silver Honor Roll at West and is involved as a volunteer at the Sioux City Humane Society and with the Trinity Lutheran Church Youth Group. Her brother, Jordan, played basketball at BC and is a 2017 graduate. She is the daughter of Scott and Roni Comstock and plans to major in nursing at the Cliff.
