State Golf FINAL RESULTS: Bridgeport’s Stevens T-3, Scottsbluff & Kimball finish 4th

State Golf FINAL RESULTS: Bridgeport’s Stevens T-3, Scottsbluff & Kimball finish 4th

The State Golf Championships have wrapped up at four area courses across the state this afternoon.

Here are the final results from Classes B, C, and D.

Class B- Columbus

The Scottsbluff Bearcats finished in 4th place in the overall team standings shooting a two day score of 667.

Josh Wilson went 80-81 to post a 161 and finish T-15 at 17 over par for the tournament.

Vince Quijas backed up his opening round 85 with a six shot improvement, he posted a day two score of 79 to shoot +20 and finish T-23.

Sidney finished in 7th place overall at +113 (689).

York was the Class B state champion, finishing at +56 (632).

Scottsbluff individual breakdown:

T-15. Josh Wilson 80-81, to finish +17 (161)

T-23. Vince Quijas 85-79, to finish +20 (164)

27. Sam McCaslin 85-50, to finish +21 (165)

46. Gavin Howell 88-89, to finish +33 (177)

T-69. Noah Bruner 93-107, to finish +56 (200)

Class C – Kearney

Bridgeport’s Eric Stevens entered his final round with a shot to win the state title but he came up just a little bit short.

Still an excellent two day showing for the Bulldogs senior, who finished in a tie for 3rd place with a two day score of +8 (150). Stevens finished yesterday with an even par round of 70.

Today he finished at 8 over par and ended five shots off the pace set by champion, Chase Largen, of Creighton.

In the team standings the Kimball Longhorns finished 4th overall with a two day combined score of +87 (655). The team champ was Grand Island Central Catholic at +69 (637).

Kimball’s duo of Andrew McCloud and Dillon Wise each finished in a tie for 11th place.  McCloud went 78-80 to finish +16 while Wise ripped it up on day two, shooting a +1, 72 today, after a opening 86 on Tuesday.

Bridgeport finished in 14th place.

Class D – North Platte

West Holt was the team champion at +63 (639).

Garden County was the lone full squad from the region in action, the Eagles wound up in 15th place shooting +248.

T-55. Hunter Craig, Morrill, 94-101 (195)

T-61. Nicholas Presson, Crawford, 102-99 (201)

72. Trevor Morava, Crawford, 114-94 (208)
