Land ready for round two as Gering girls basketball coach.

Steve Land has been here before.

On Thursday, Land was named the head girls basketball coach at Gering High School.

This will be his second stint as the girls coach at Gering. The first time around he coached for 14 seasons, winning four district titles and in 2003 his Lady Bulldogs finished 25-1 and were the Class B State runner-up.

Most recently, Land had been serving as assistant coach to Randy Plummer with the boys program.

Land replaces Adam Freeburg, who stepped down after 8 years at the helm following this past season.
