Lincoln, NE– The Tri-City Storm score a season high seven goals in Wednesday night’s defeat of the Lincoln Stars. Storm forward Colby Ambrosio notched his 1st career hat trick in the win. Tri-City picked up its 12th win in its first 17 games of the regular season in tonight’s win. Jake Barczewski made 20 saves on 22 shots and picked up his 4th win of the season in goal. The Storm return home to the Viaero Center on Friday in a matchup with in state rival Omaha. Elias Rosen gave the Storm a 1-0 lead at the 10:48 mark of the 1st period on a goal assisted by Jake Crespi. T

ri-City outshot Lincoln 11-4 in the opening period and carried a one goal lead into the 2nd period. Colby Ambrosio netted his 4th goal of the season at 1:49 of the 2nd period to giv­e Tri-City a two-goal lead. Later in the period, Ambrosio scored his 2nd goal of the night and 5th goal of the season to push the Storm lead to 3-0. Lincoln’s Matthew Barbolini cut the Storm lead down to two goals less than half a minute after Ambrosio scored at the 11:32 mark of the period. Tri-City entered the 3rd period with a 3-1 lead. Colby Ambrosio scored his 3rd goal of the night at 14:46 of the 3rd period to put the Storm up 4-1. The three goal night for Ambrosio was his 1st Career Hat Trick in the USHL. Connor McMenamin netted his 5th goal of the season at the 17:15 mark of the 3rd period to increase the Storm’s lead to 5-1. Khristian Acosta scored his 2nd goal of the season at 17:37 of the period to give Tri-City a 6-1 lead. Lincoln’s Shane Pinto answered with his 10th goal of the season to bring the Stars deficit to four goals.

The Storm scored one final goal with under one minute to play to stretch the lead back to five goals and solidify a road victory against Lincoln. Zac Jones notched his 2nd goal of the season at 19:19 of the 3rd period. Tri-City outshot Lincoln 31-22 and has now won three of four games against Lincoln this season. The Storm host Omaha Friday at the Viaero Center for a “Storm Blackout” game on “Black Friday”.
