Fargo, ND. – The Tri-City Storm dropped a 3-0 decision to Fargo Wednesday night at Scheels Arena in Fargo, ND and have been eliminated from the 2018 Clark Cup Playoffs. The Storm fell in back to back games to the Fargo Force and finished the season on an eleven game winless streak. Garret Van Wyhe opened the scoring Wednesday night with a goal at the 5:36 mark of the first period. The Force outshot the Storm 13-5 and carried a one goal lead into the 2nd period. Fargo added another goal at 10:23 of the second period to increase the lead to 2-0. Griffin Loughran’s power play goal was assisted by Robbie Stucker and Evan Bell and it gave the Force a two goal lead.
Fargo outshot Tri-City 10-6 in the second period and took a 2-0 lead into the third period. Fargo scored the lone goal in the third period to seal a 3-0 win and a 2-0 series victory. Carter Randklev scored his 3rd post season goal at 6:22 of the third period. Fargo outshot Tri-City 10-9 in the third period and had a full game shot advantage of 33-20. Jake Barczewski recorded the loss in goal for the Storm, making 30 saves on 33 shots. The Storm went 0/4 on the power play and 5/6 on the penalty kill. The playoff series was the Storm’s first playoff appearance since the organizations Clark Cup Championship in 2016.
