Kearney, Neb. – The Tri-City Storm’s power-play struck twice, but the Green Bay Gamblers scored three in the third to slip by the Storm, 4-2, Thursday at the Viaero Center.
Charlie Kelleher and Joey Matthews scored the first two power-play goals for the Storm. Tri-City led, 2-1, entering the third before Casey Mittelstadt scored twice in the third for Green Bay. Mittelstadt potted the game-winning tally with about seven minutes left. Josh Kosack scored the empty-net goal to stop the Storm’s comeback attempt. In cage, Dayton Rasmussen made 27 saves. The Storm outshot the Gamblers, 35-31, but David Hrenak earned his first USHL win with 33 stops. The Storm wraps up a four-game homestand tonight against Green Bay at 7:05 p.m.
