Ralston, NE. – The Tri-City Storm dropped a game in overtime to the Omaha Lancers by a final score of 2-1 on Sunday night. Blais Richartz scored the Storm’s only goal in the 2nd period to tie the game up at 1-1. Omaha’s Cole Gallant scored the game winning goal with less than 2 minutes to go in the overtime period. Tri-City returns to action Friday night in a road matchup against the Sioux City Musketeers. Omaha scored a late 1st period goal to take a 1-0 over Tri-City. Jesper Peltonen netted his 3rd goal of the season at the 17:08 mark of the opening period and the Lancers took a one goal lead into the 2nd period. The goal by Peltonen was assisted by Filip Suchy and Cameron Reagan.
Omaha outshot Tri-City 14-9 in the 1st period. The Storm answered with a goal from Blais Richartz at the 14:51 mark of the 2nd period. The game tying goal from Richartz was his 9th of the season and was assisted by Bryan Yoon. Yoon registered his team leading 30th assist on the year on the goal from Richartz. Tri-City outshot Omaha 13-10 in the 2nd period. No goals were scored in the 3rd period and each team collected a point in the Western Conference standings by taking the game to overtime. Tri-City was outshot 10-3 in the 3rd period and 4-0 in the overtime period. Omaha scored the game winning goal in overtime to snap a seven game winless streak. Cole Gallant scored his 11th goal of the season at the 3:06 mark of the overtime period to give the Lancers the win. Storm goalie Jake Barczewski recorded the loss in net, stopping 36 of 38 shots for the Tri-City. The Storm return to action Friday night in a road matchup with the Sioux City Musketeers.
