Kearney, NE. – The Tri-City Storm have acquired defenseman Blake Evennou from the Muskegon Lumberjacks in exchange for a 2018 USHL Phase II Draft 9th Round Pick. Evennou, 19, from Macomb, Michigan has skated in 28 of Muskegon’s 30 games this season. The right shooting defenseman has recorded one goal and six assists on the year. He was drafted in the 6th round of the 2017 USHL Draft by the Central Illinois Flying Aces.
Prior to joining the Muskegon Lumberjacks this season, Evennou spent last season in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) with the Lone Star Brahmas. Evennou played in 50 regular season games and 9 playoff games for the Brahmas, netting four goals and providing twelve assists to the Lone Star offense. The Brahmas defeated the Aston Rebels last May to capture the first Robertson Cup Championship in team history. “Blake is a defenseman who excels at skating and moving the puck. He’s played valuable minutes in the league this year, and was part of a championship run in the NAHL last season with Lone Star. We feel his ability and experience will be a strong addition to our back end” – Tri-City Storm Head Coach/General Manger Anthony Noreen Evennou previously announced a commitment to Ferris State on November 20th, 2017. He is expected to join the team for Tri-City’s two road games vs. the Youngstown Phantoms this weekend.
