Wayne State hosts St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth from the NSIC North Division in key league games at Rice Auditorium this weekend.
The Wildcats enter Friday’s 7:30 p.m. contest vs. St. Cloud State leading the NSIC South Division (12-4) and 17-5 overall while SCSU is 16-6 overall and second in the NSIC North at 11-5. UMD starts the weekend with records of 12-8 and 9-7 in league play.
St. Cloud State beat WSC twice last season – 82-58 in Wayne and 81-57 at St. Cloud in the first round of the NSIC Tournament. The Wildcats edged Minnesota Duluth last seasons 88-86 in overtime in Wayne.
After getting swept in conference play for the first time all season last weekend, Wayne State College returns to the friendly confines of Rice Auditorium in Wayne to host St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth in NSIC cross-division games this weekend.
WSC enters Friday’s 5:30 p.m. contest vs. St. Cloud State at 13-9 overall and 8-8 (Tie-5th) in the NSIC South Division while the Huskies are 12-8 and fourth in the NSIC North with a 9-7 league mark. UMD enters the weekend with records of 14-5 overall and second in the NSIC North with a 13-3 league record.
Last season, WSC beat St. Cloud State 84-56 in Wayne followed by a 76-70 win over Minnesota Duluth.
