Kearney, Neb. – The schedule for several Nebraska-Kearney teams has changed this weekend due to inclement weather. First, the men’s golf team was hoping to have a 36-hole dual vs. Midland University Monday at Awarii Dunes. That recently added event was to help replace the UNK Spring Invite that was snowed out two weeks ago. Now, the Midland dual is postponed and may be made up at a later date. Next, the baseball game scheduled for Tuesday, April 3, at Northwest Missouri State has been postponed.
The two teams will now play a double header on Tuesday, April 17, at Memorial Field. First pitch is tentatively set for noon. Also, the tennis team’s trip to Liberal, Kan., on Tuesday, April 3, has been canceled and will not be made up. The Lopers were set to face JUCO power Seward County C.C. UNK will now host Lindenwood and Southwest Baptist this weekend. Those duals have been moved to Grand Island (Friday, noon vs. LWU; Saturday vs. SBU, 1 p.m.) unless the weather drastically improves. Finally, the softball team hopes to host Washburn and Emporia State this weekend at Patriot Park. Based on predicted weather, the sites and dates for those games may be moved up.
