NORTH BEND – The semifinals of the boys East Husker Conference basketball tournament were held in North Bend on Friday, as heard on 107.9 The Bull.
In the first game, Bancroft-Rosalie/Lyons Decatur overcame a slow start to beat Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family 62-44. Dylan Beutler led all scorers with 24 points for the Wolverines, including four three pointers. Darwin Snyder added 10 points. For H/LHF, Jacob Sjuts and Tyler Sjuts each had 13 points, and Turner Beller had 10.
In the second game, North Bend Central got out to a fast start and raced past Howells-Dodge 66-32, leading 34-8 at halftime. Tanner Wietfeld led the Tigers with 19 points. John Emanuel added 15 points, and also achieved the 1,000 career points milestone during the game. Josh Brester led the Jaguars with 9 points, while Blake Sindelar added 8.
Howells-Dodge and Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family will meet for third place Saturday afternoon at 2:30. BRLD and North Bend Central will face off for the EHC championship at 7:45. Both games will take place at CCC in Columbus.
