After opening league play with a three-game road trip, the Wayne State College men’s basketball team now gets three straight home games starting this weekend with a Saturday 4:30 p.m. contest against Bemidji State followed by a Sunday 2:30 p.m. matchup vs. Minnesota Crookston.
The Wildcats have won seven straight games and are 8-1 overall and 3-0 in the NSIC with BSU coming to Wayne with records of 4-3 and 1-2 in league play.
UMC starts the weekend at 7-4 overall and 1-2 in NSIC games. Last season, BSU topped WSC in Bemidji 91-70 while WSC won in Crookston 85-74.
Wayne State College returns to the friendly confines of Rice Auditorium for a four-game homestand over the next two weeks, starting this weekend with NSIC home games vs. Bemidji State Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and Minnesota Crookston Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
The Wildcats are 5-3 overall and 1-2 in NSIC play heading into Saturday’s matchup vs. the Beavers, 2-5 and 0-3 in league play. UMC starts the weekend at 7-2 overall and 2-1 in the NSIC.
Last season, WSC won at BSU 77-52 while the ‘Cats beat UMC twice last season – 67-60 in Crookston in the regular season and 72-59 in Wayne in the NSIC Tournament opener.
