York has strong showing at Bethel Invite

York has strong showing at Bethel Invite

NORTH NEWTON, Kan. — The men’s and women’s cross country teams had a stellar weekend as they posted a first place and second place finish, respectively. After Bethel College’s runner came in first the Panthers had the next four runners that crossed the finished line, led byLogan Kaliff (FR/York, NE) with a time of 27:31. Levi Swenson(JR/Benkelman, NE) came in third, followed by Zachary Cayton(FR/Phoenix, AZ) and Caleb Magner (JR/York, Neb). Mason Held(SO/West Fork, Ark) finished in 10th, followed by Cameron Sorter(JR/Seaside, OR) in 11th.

On the women’s side Madeleine Martinez (FR/San Antonio, Texas) finished in second place with a time of 20:29. Hailey Stigger (FR/Liberty, Mo) was just 45 seconds behind with her fifth place finish. Hannah Rhoda finished in 10th, with Ariel Warrior (JR/Boys Ranch, Texas) finishing in 11th. The fifth York College runner was Jesse Poneoma (JR/Anthem, Ariz) with a 13th place finish.

The Panthers have this weekend off before heading to Winfield, Kansas for the Mid-States Classic on October 22.
