Hastings men lose to Dakota Wesleyan
Hastings - On a day that was supposed to send the Bronco seniors out on top turned into a tough day as Dakota Wesleyan utilized a triangle and two to slow the Bronco offense as Hastings fell 86-72 at Lynn Farrell Arena.
The Broncos had no answer for Jalen Voss and Trey Bergh as they combined for 62 of DWU's 86 points. Voss had a game-high 34 while Bergh finished with 28.
Voss really gave the Broncos fits inside as he is a match-up nightmare with his size while Bergh had a big night from downtown connecting on 5-for-9 three-point attempts.
With the game tied 20-20, the Broncos would go cold while DWU would begin to open things up. The Tigers would go on an 18-5 run to take a 13-point lead and the Broncos would really never recover.
HC would get it back to four to start the second half off of a Brady Lollman jumper but back-to-back buckets by Voss and Bergh would stretch the lead back to nine at 43-34. Hastings would only be able to get to within eight the rest of the way.
Lollman led the Broncos with 20 points on 6-for-12 shooting. Brett Wells and Brandon Krause would both finish with 14 points.
With the loss, Hastings falls to 19-8 (13-5) on the year and will be back in action Wednesday Feb. 19 hitting the road to take on Midland with tip-off set for 8:00 p.m. in Fremont, NE.
