Arapahoe Boys up end Bertrand
Bertrand-The Arapahoe Boys basketball team took advantage of an undermanned Bertrand squad Friday night, winning 69-60 on the road.
The Vikings jumped out to an early 15-5 lead before the Warriors went on an 8-0 run to end the first quarter, making the score 15-13 at the end of one.
Arapahoe tied the game at 15 in the second quarter and then took their first lead and never relinquished it.
The Warriors led 33-29 at halftime and 51-41 at the end of three after outscoring Bertrand 18-12 in the third quarter.
Arapahoe struggled from the line in the fourth quarter, but still managed to put up 18 points. The Vikings scored 19 points in the final frame, but it was not enough to come back.
Brennan Koller had 25 points for Arapahoe (10-12) to lead all scorers. Caden Weverka totaled 17, 10 coming in the second half. Austin Koller chipped in 14.
Jake Samuelson had a team-high 21 points for Bertrand (12-6). 13 of his points came in the fourth quarter. Cooper Grabenstein notched 20, including 16 in the first half. Robert Edgren added 11.
The Vikings hit the road Saturday to battle Pleasanton. The Warriors conclude their regular season next Friday at Alma.
