Wissel to step down at Elm Creek

Stan Wissel is retiring after 27 years at Elm Creek

Longtime Elm Creek administrator and coach Stan Wissel is retiring from teaching and coaching. Wissel has spent the last 27 years at Elm Creek as football and track coach and activities director. Before moving to Elm Creek he spent 7 years at CHB high school. Wissel coached the Buffaloes to the state football playoffs 10 times and they also won 9 Fort Kearny Conference titles. Elm Creek also won the Gridiron Championship in 1994 and 1998. Wissel's record at Elm Creek was 152-95. He had numerous players go on to play college football and most recently Mason Brodine is playing in the NFL with the Oakland Raiders.

Wissel also had a strong interest in track and field and since Elm Creek built its new facility in 2002, the school has hosted numerous conference and district meets. Wissel helped coached a number of state track champions as well. Elm Creek will host the C-9 meet on May 10th. Wissel will be our guest on Tuesday on KRVN morning news at 7:40 on AM 880 KRVN.
