Huskers go for share of Big Ten title
No. 20 Nebraska clashes with No. 7 Penn State in a battle of the Big Ten's top two teams in the final women's basketball game in Bob Devaney Sports Center history on Sunday in Lincoln.
Tip-off between the red-hot Huskers (22-6, 12-3 Big Ten) who have won 10 straight games, and the Lady Lions (23-4, 13-2 Big Ten) is set for 5:06 p.m. (central). Live national TV coverage will be provided by the Big Ten Network, with Kevin Kugler on play-by-play and LaChina Robinson providing analysis.
The Husker Sports Network will provide a live radio broadcast of the game with Matt Coatney and Jeff Griesch describing the action, including flagships B107.3 FM in Lincoln, 1110 AM-KFAB in Omaha and 880 AM-KRVN in Lexington. A free live audio stream will be available on Huskers.com.
A share of the Big Ten regular-season title is on the line for the Huskers. The Lady Lions clinched a share of the conference title last Sunday at the Bryce Jordan Center in University Park, Pa., and secured the No. 1 seed in next week's Big Ten Tournament. However, Penn State suffered an 89-81 loss at Minnesota late Thursday after Nebraska escaped from Wisconsin with a dramatic 55-53, come-from-behind win hours earlier. Those two results left the door open for the Huskers to win their first Big Ten title, while closing the doors on their 37-year history in the Devaney Center.
Nebraska will honor seniors Lindsey Moore and Meghin Williams in their final home games as Huskers. Moore will make her school-record-tying 127th start. Williams has played in 61 straight games for the Huskers and 92 in her career. She joined Moore as a freshman on NU's Big 12 title team in 2010.
