Creighton makes coaches poll

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton men's basketball team returned to the Top 25 today, moving to No. 23 in the USA Today coaches poll. Creighton remained just outside the Top 25 in the Associated Press voting, coming in at 27th.

Creighton is 12-2 on the season (2-0 BIG EAST) and riding a streak of seven straight double-digit victories. Most recently, Creighton defeated Seton Hall 79-66 on Saturday in Newark, N.J.

Today's inclusion marks the third time this year that Creighton has been in the USA Today's poll, joining the Nov. 18th (23rd) and Nov. 25th (18th) polls.

Creighton's No. 27 spot in the AP poll was its highest since being tabbed 20th on Nov. 25th. The Bluejays have been ranked in the top-25 30 times in 67 weeks under Greg McDermott, and this is the eighth time the team has been 26th, 27th or 28th in the same poll under the fourth-year head coach.

Creighton returns to the court on Tuesday night at 8:02 pm with a game at DePaul that will air on FOX Sports 1.
