Derek Deaver……5/30/2017

The very successful Scottsbluff High School DECA program will have a new leader in the next school year as Derek Deaver accepts a new responsibility.

Deaver has been the school’s DECA leader for the past thirty years, but he will now be the school’s internship director, a position established with the advent of the new Career Academies at SHS.

Deaver says DECA students and those in his marketing and business classes have been interns at local businesses, but the new program will allow students in all areas to take part.

Deaver says he will still be in the background of the DECA program. But with his move it will allow young faculty members Brook Talkington, Justin Gipe, and McKenzie Koncaba, all of whom have been advisors and students in the program, to take over the leadership role.
