The West Point-Beemer School Board met for their regular monthly meeting Monday night. Elementary Principal Doug Gross says the Elementary is looking at starting Summer School after the 4th of July.
Gross says the plan is to hold in-person classes with a few less kids.
Superintendent Bill McAllister says there is reduced capacity for buses, and that complicates things for summer school.
McAllister made his comments during the COVID-19 discussion, and said that they’re looking at 8-10 gallons of hand sanitizer for each person in the building for a year, which is the equivalent of 8,000 gallons.
Also at the meeting, the board approved an increase in Lunch Prices for next school year.
McAllister says the average for Nebraska Schools is from $3.00 to $3.25.
The Board also received a graduation update. High School Principal D.J. Weddle.
Weddle says prom, which was scheduled for Friday, July 10th, is a no go.
There will also be a P2T Information Board Meeting on Monday, June 15th.
