Family dog dies in house fire near McCool Junction Thursday evening

MCCOOL JUNCTION- On Thursday evening a house fire broke out near McCool Junction shortly after 6:00 P.M. According to McCool Junction Fire Chief, Adam Beck, the fire started in the kitchen area of the house located at 209 Road M.  One person was in the home, and they were able to exit without injury.

The state fire marshal’s office was on scene to investigate and the cause of the fire was electrical. As mentioned no people were injured, but the family did lose their dog in the fire. An estimate of the damage has not yet been determined.
