As of Friday, January 1, the Four Corners Risk Dial has been reset and remains in the Orange Elevated COVID-19 Risk Level at 2.38, which is the same as the previous week. Public health recommendations and the COVID-19 dashboard are posted on our website at www.fourcorners.ne.gov.
Over New Year’s Eve and Day (December 31 through January 1), there were 45 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the District:
- Seward County had 23 new cases for a total of 1,635.
- York County had 13 new cases for a total of 1,386.
- Polk County had 6 new cases for 474 cases total.
- Butler County added 3 cases for 743 total cases.
As of January 1, the total cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in the Four Corners District is 4,238. There were 269 new cases in the previous 14 days, with 131 of those cases recorded in the past 7 days.
Over the prior 7 days (Dec. 26-Jan. 1), the totals for each county are as follows:
- Butler County—15
- Polk County—11
- Seward County—63
- York County–42

Four Corners also confirms 3 additional COVID-19 related deaths:
- A Polk County man in his 80’s, who had been hospitalized
- A Seward County man in his 80’s, who had been hospitalized
- A Seward County woman in her 80’s, who had been under medical care.
These deaths bring the Four Corners’ cumulative total of COVID-19 related deaths to 58. Seward County increases to 22 total COVID—19 related deaths; Polk County to 16. York and Butler Counties each remain at 10 total COVID-19 related deaths.
