NSP Investigating Officer-Involved Shooting in Blair

NSP Investigating Officer-Involved Shooting in Blair

APRIL 16, 2020 (OMAHA, NEB.)  — The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating an officer-involved shooting involving the Blair Police Department that occurred late Wednesday evening.

At approximately 9:50 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, the Blair Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance at 1160 Adams St. in Blair. Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies also responded to assist.

During the response, officers entered the home. The suspect, Leslie Flynn Jr., 39, was in possession of a rifle and was shot by officers during the incident. Flynn was transported to Memorial Community Hospital in Blair, where he died.

The Blair Police Department requested that the Nebraska State Patrol conduct an investigation into the incident. Three Blair Police Officers have been placed on administrated leave during the investigation.

Nebraska law requires a grand jury to convene for any in-custody death.
